Classic American Muscle Car
This incredible Boss 302 is the kind of car most enthusiasts dream of finding. A documented one-owner, ten thousand original mile, completely original numbers matching Boss 302 on its original 1970 title with supporting documentation including its original build sheet in Grabber Orange and in mint condition!
Yes, whoever buys this car will be the recipient of the original title reassigned to them and will be the second owner. No stories or other such trickery , this is the real deal - a one owner muscle car.
Purchased new by Mr. Gordon W Harris, Jr., this Boss was used sparingly and eventually placed into long term storage with just a shade over 10,000 miles on it. In September of 2003, Mr. Harris removed the car from storage which is when I acquired it.Although in incredible unrestored condition at that time, due to the long period of inactivity, I felt it was a wise idea to completely "go through" the mechanical aspects of the car. The engine was disassembled and inspected, and found to be in exceptional condition. It was cleaned and resealed and given a clean bill of health. The transmission was also rebuilt/checked , the fuel tank replaced, all new brake hoses and cylinders were installed, a new correct exhaust installed, and all other "support systems" if you will were rebuilt/resealed/tested. The car is mechanically as fit as a brand new one, if not better! It is one strong Boss 302. All refurbishment was done preserving originality , for example, the paint markings on the perfect original transmission case were simply cleaned and left alone. They look like they were put there yesterday. All other assembly markings that were found were either cleaned or simply duplicated if too far gone.
The paint on the car was original when I purchased it. However, Mr. Harris had ,in typical 1970's fashion, had his name airbrushed on the car, along with some additional "Ford" and "Boss" logos. Additionally, while well taken care of in storage all those years, the car did suffer from box abuse. That is, Mrs. Harris found the Boss to be a perfect shelf and did some damage to the paint by using it as such. I felt that given the incredible condition of the car it deserved to be properly painted. I had Boss expert Phil Schultz paint the exterior of the car in the proper single stage paint, again preserving the correct look and originality. The door jambs, for example, are original paint. The car simply looks incredible.
Again, this is a 100% numbers matching Boss, and correct right down to the ORIGINAL (Not reproduction!) Polyglass tires!
If you appreciate one owner, low mileage, documented cars as much as I do, this car deserves a close look. The one bonus this car has over other original cars is that it has been sympathetically brought up to a very high standard both mechanically and appearance wise , and is a turn key car that can either be driven or shown at this point without fear.
Truly a "one of a kind" car , and an incredible find.
